What can pressure washing do for your brand?
You’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on your new oilfield equipment. Your trucks and trailers are all brightly colored and display your company brand proudly. But you also know that your profession is going to gunk things up pretty quickly.
Once your equipment is completely covered in filth, which will happen, there are a few options for you to consider. First of all, cleaning big trucks and oil rigging equipment is an enormous task, especially if you are under-equipped. A bucket of dish detergent water and a sponge just isn’t going to cut it. Pressure washers typically use a jet of high-pressured water to scrub large surfaces and the water used is often heated. In fact, the most effective pressure washers combine 200 degree fahrenheit water at a powerful 4,000 psi. The heat and the pressure works together to help reduce the viscosity of the oil and make it easier to remove.

Can pressure washing help my equipment last longer?
You bet. Regular cleaning will absolutely extend the life of your machinery, truck parts, pumps, and other oilfield equipment. As dirt, oil, mud, dust, and other grime builds up on the exterior of your machinery, parts like hydraulic hoses, moving joints, and areas of normal friction may face increased wear. Loose dirt risks falling into moving parts which can cause equipment failure over time. This can lead to costly repairs and costly maintenance demands.
Regular pressure washing reduces mechanical wear and tear by removing the everyday buildup of damaging particulates, sands, small rocks, and other abrasives that can damage your equipment.
Won’t pressure washing damage paint?
Not if it’s properly performed, power washing can damage certain materials and fragile parts. The high pressures that modern pressure washers typically won’t damage painted surfaces that have been properly maintained. However, surfaces and finishes that are flaking, peeling, decaying, or degrading may be damaged further by the use of high pressure water. These areas should be manually cleaned and then protected against the high velocity water sprays pressure washers produce.
Also, pressure washers can be fitted with detergent dispensing accessories that provide a bit of soap along with the water. While detergents are great at dissolving and removing built up oil and grease, you won’t want them to also rob the painted surface of the pigmented oils that reside within the paint itself, leaving a faded, cloudy haze within the clear coat and basecoat of paint.
